Participation in Career exploration
The Berufsfelderkundung of the Rheinisch-Bergisch District represents an opportunity to counteract this shortage of skilled professionals in long-term and helps to catch attention of future employees. This trial day will be used to show young people from the 8th and 9th grade the wide range of career opportunities and gives them an initial guide for their future career choice.
On three days during the school year, these one day interships take place. There the 13 to 14-year-olds get a realistic idea of the working world so that they can discover their own abilities and interests and try out different occupations for one day.
On 26th April 2018, menten GmbH will also be taking part in the Berufsfelderkundung of the Rheinisch-Bergische Kreis for the first time and gives three pupils the opportunity to get to know different occupations and activities in an IT company. Thereby, the focus is in particular on the training occupations (IT system merchant, IT specialist application development, IT specialist System integrstion) offered by menten GmbH.
The pupils should learn more about these jobs on this day by observing the daily work-life and by getting explanations of the employees, trainees and managers. Particular attention is paid to the fact that the pupils, in addition to observing and explanations, can also take on practical tasks and thus actively get insightss into one of the IT occupations.
The Berufsfelderkundung thus offers many adantages for the pupils as well as for the menten GmbH. The pupils get the opportunity to take a first step towards a qualified decision about their further path of education and the menten GmbH can acquire potential new trainees, apprentices or dual students. Thus the Berufsfelderkundung is a win-win situation for all parties involved.
